Royal Law

The Royal Law consists of the two greatest commandments which Christ elevated. Mark 12:29-31

From these two Commandments, all the other commandments hang:

1- Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

What does ‘love’ mean in this context? The Bible defines itself.

Read Deuteronomy chapters 5, 6, 7 and 8.

To love God is to study His Word diligently and obey His commandments in unwavering faith.

“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Mathew 4:4

2- Love your neighbor as yourself.

Again, what does ‘love’ mean in this context? The Bible defines itself again.

“Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbor, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord.” Leviticus 19:17-18

Spread the Word to all, warning those who are in sin while forgiving them continually.

“If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.” James 2:8-9
